Vanessa Parry
I am a self taught artist born in Wanganui and raised on Auckland’s west coast. I have always been passionate about art, from an early age, as I grew up in a creative and expressive family. My dad being a painter and my mum a teacher. Both influenced and encouraged my enthusiasm and ability.
I have travelled South America and Europe,and after living in London for several years I returned home to Auckland, to settle and start a family.
After many years in a corporate career, now being a stay at home Mum to two lovely kids, has given me the opportunity to start painting again.
I am passionate about all things kiwi, in particular Maori mythology, which gives me the inspiration for my abstract series.
In my landscapes I try to capture quintessential New Zealand, these often include a variety of kiwi icons that make this land unique.
